What is the homeschool hybrid model? Our Classical Homeschool Hybridâ„¢ program offers the best of both worlds! Parents and tutors collaborate each week to implement thoughtfully integrated lesson plans provided by Regina Caeli. Students spend three days learning at home and two in a classroom environment at the center. This setup maximizes the benefits of meaningful family time and instruction while also allowing students to enjoy learning alongside like-minded peers in a classroom for two days each week. Families are recognized as the primary educators and receive support from our trained tutors, who facilitate the lessons in the classroom. Our tutors not only grade tests and papers but also maintain online grade books that are accessible to parents, in addition to providing report cards. Our Classical Homeschool Hybridâ„¢ approach honors a strong Catholic family life and fosters a virtuous Catholic culture for students as they learn at the center.
-

This process helps students take ownership of their education, while parents appreciate the accountability provided by the due dates and deadlines established by REGINA CAELI®. Additionally, parents can set up a home consultation support call to help with structuring their days at home. This service is included with the family’s tuition.

What kind of flexibility is there for our family if we travel?Homeschool hybrid education is structured while still allowing the flexibility that many homeschooling families desire. We operate on a 32-week academic calendar, which includes week-long breaks for family time with no assigned work! These breaks provide excellent travel opportunities. If a spontaneous travel opportunity arises, your family can adjust by completing lessons in advance or while you are away. Instruction at the center will continue as scheduled. Therefore, families must coordinate in advance with Regina Caeli to make up any missed tests at the center on the day the student returns.

Do you offer accommodations for students with an IEP or 504 plan?Since we are a support system for homeschooled families rather than a traditional school, we cannot directly honor IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) or 504 plans. After consulting with the family, we strive to provide reasonable accommodations that address the needs of both the student and the family. The small classroom environment on center days, combined with individualized support from the parent during the three homeschool days, can effectively serve as a tailored Individual Education Plan. Please note that our staff is trained to implement classical educational approaches and methodologies; however, they are not special education teachers. Additionally, we are not equipped to address serious behavioral issues. REGINA CAELI® strives to support families and staff, ensuring each student gains the maximum benefit from our classical curriculum. We interview each family, allowing the opportunity to share any diagnosed conditions or concerns related to your child's learning. This information will help us determine if REGINA CAELI® can provide the support you seek for your child and homeschooling experience.

Our families are dedicated to homeschooling within a community, with REGINA CAELI® supporting this through its curriculum, lesson plans, and trained tutors who provide a classroom experience two days a week. All families agree to follow the policies outlined in our Handbook, which fosters unity and recognizes parents as the primary educators of their children. The commitment of time and shared experiences helps nurture strong friendships and bonds among our families, both locally and nationally.

This meeting will help everyone determine if our Classical Homeschool Hybridâ„¢ program is a good fit for your family. After the meeting, we will email you an admissions decision.

Does REGINA CAELI® offer any standardized tests? As part of our accreditation requirements and to support our families, we partner with the Classical Learning Test (CLT) to provide our 3rd- to 11th-grade students with one official CLT exam each year, along with a practice exam. RCA’s 12th-grade students are not required to take the CLT but have the option to do so in the fall. The CLT fulfills the standardized testing requirement for many states' homeschool laws; however, we recommend that our families verify the specific requirements applicable to their location by checking hslda.com. Even if your state does not require standardized testing, these assessments can help families identify their students' strengths and weaknesses.

Our Curriculum
Benefits of a Classical Curriculum
Following the great intellectual tradition of the classical liberal arts, Regina Caeli™ curriculum utilizes a classical methodology that rests on the concept of the Trivium, Latin for “the three ways” of learning: grammar, logic and rhetoric – which correspond to a student’s naturally maturing mind. Classroom work such as narration, picture study, presentation, and oral and written persuasion show the interconnectedness of all knowledge through the contemplation of the True, the Good, and the Beautiful. Classical education based on the trivium, integrated classical books, art and music, and idea-focused instruction provides students with the foundation to live a principled life and is proven to cultivate wisdom and virtue so that the love of God may abound more and more.
